Just for fun, here is a photo of my dad Ward Leiter on fiddle, my brother Jim Leiter on guitar, my brother Tom Leiter on his lap steel guitar, and yours truly at 7 years old playing the banjo mandolin. Picture was taken in the living room of our house in Charlotte 1960. I never remember a day growing up without being surrounded by people playing music. More often than not it was my family. Even while in the process of Sheet rocking the house, dad always took time out to teach us boys how to play a new song (or two or three or four) well, you get the picture.
I was a little tired last evening, and I thought I put this photo on here for everyone. So, if for some reason you see it twice, then just enjoy it both times. I spent my entire life in Charlotte until I went on the road playing music full time. So I simply want to share with all of you some pieces of how my life was shaped from those I grew up with and those who became my friends throughout all those years. Thank you, each of you in some way helped me get through a lot of troubling times in my life.
