A story from our past

Posts about our first show in 2023

February 8

Howdy everyone. It is just days now before our show and I would like to let you in on a few intentionally well kept secrets until now.

First, let me say how grateful we are to each of our supporters, fans, sponsors, volunteers, ticket buyers and especially to all the hard working musicians who want to work together and help make this a fun filled evening for the whole family.

Next I want to personally thank my precious wife Sue Leiter for being by my side for all these years. Never knowing which direction I might go next but, always willing to go wherever I believed my heart was leading us to be. So, I especially want to publicly tell her how much I appreciate and love her for it. On Valentines day Feb 14th, this will be our 46th year together. Now, just to name a few places where we have performed: From the West Branch Country Club in Michigan to the Yacht Club in Branson MO. From a Beauty Pageant in Billings Montana to a Lunch-in with the Governor of Wyoming at the LaBonte Hotel in Douglas WY. From Salmon Idaho to Denver Colorado. From Gallop New Mexico to Melbourne FL. From The Dance Halls of Texas to the Holiday Inn in Wisconsin Dells, From a Ship in New York City to the a floating Casino in San Diego California. From the dance halls in the Black hills of North & South Dakota to the Fair & Rodeos of Mason Michigan to the State Fair in Wyoming. From the Capital Steps in Lansing Michigan to a Steak House in Brownsville Texas. From the Office of the President of Word Incorporated in Waco Texas to a fabulous Cajun Diner & dance club in Biloxi Mississippi to the Steel guitar Hall of Fame in St Louis Missouri. From Andy Williams Moon River Theater in Branson Missouri to Carnival Cruise Line in the Caribbean. My point is this: Even though this is just a thimble full of places that I have ask my wife to go with me, and be my helper while together we performed, drove the little school bus, raised our kids and had all the same trials that most families experience while raising children. She is still with me and I still love her so very much.

Together, we want to do what we have always done since the first time we met. Sing, laugh, play music, visit with old friends, make some new friends and share with everyone we meet the good things that God has given to us as tools to help bring a little joy to someone else.

This will be a very special evening for us.

Don’t forget, all you old hippies “Peace, Love dove, far out & salad” to each of you. Must be this is gonna be a special show ’cause I’m really getting nervous. I want everything to be great for our friends, family and all those special guests that are coming.

It has taken me three months to sort out just the right songs that I think everyone can both relate to and appreciate. Hope to talk to each of you before the night is through.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who attended our Show last evening. It turned out to be a really fun time for everyone. As usual, Paul & Brenda Loomis along with Bob Cottom and our special guest Jon Potrykus on the fiddle the music was excellent.

Tomorrow, we’ll be working on our the prelim’s for our next show. Remember, each time we do this, our hope is to introduce new local talent, and bring in different artists from around the US.
